Tuesdays - Thames Ditton Group

We meet at Thames Ditton Cricket Club, on Giggs Hill Green, on Tuesdays and set off  at 7.00 p.m. Due to most people working from home at the moment we have made the start time earlier. However, after consultations we might change back to the later time  as and when more people go back to  work - in the office not at home.  If the time does change we will post the information on the website and send out emails to those who are on the Giggs Hill Green Tuesday list. 

At present due to Covid restrictions we have suspended Structured Training referred to below and are doing normal training runs in led groups of up to six people with a mixture of pacing available. Please let Merran and Jim Sell know if you intend to attend. Also we are not able to use the Cricket Club for changing, showers or leaving bags so please arrive ready to run and either leave your kit in your car, or run or cycle there if possible. 

The normal format for these evenings is Structured Training (currently suspended) with a different activity each week, repeated on a monthly basis.

If you have run 5 miles at 9.30 min mile pace, or 5-6 miles at sub-9 min. mile pace, or 6-7 miles at 8 min. mile pace you will enjoy the Tuesday workout and we look forward to seeing you.  However, if you are a beginner or perhaps haven’t run for a long time then Little Feet on Monday evening would be the most appropriate group for you to start with  and then come along on Tuesdays once you are comfortable with the above distances and times.

The first Tuesday of the month we have a slightly shorter run and then come back to the Club where we can use  the showers and changing facilities,for this evening only, before going over to the Angel Pub for a drink and bite to eat.  However, if you are not able to join us at the Pub you are still very welcome to just come for the run.

For the other training sessions we usually stretch after the activity and then go home for our dinner and shower rather than showering at the club so that it makes the evening a  bit shorter/earlier.

The second Tuesday of the month is the Measured Mile Time Trial, the third Tuesday is a Pyramid Intervals session (all will be explained before the session starts), the fourth Tuesday is Hills.  If there is a fifth Tuesday in the month then either we organise a run over Telegraph Hill or it is a surprise exercise - to be explained on the evening.
