This is the main gathering of the week and there can be anything from 50 up to even 100 people turning up - most of them come to run, but a few may come just for the social evening. We meet at Hawker Leisure in Lower Ham Road (just off Richmond Road), where anyone in Stragglers kit will show you where you can leave your kit, tell you what's going on, and help you to find someone to run with.
We start with a Social "Mile" and then divide up into informal groups to run their desired distance and pace. Richmond Park is the most popular destination but there is an infinite number of routes in the parks, along the river, or round the local streets in Richmond, Twickenham and Teddington.
At the Thursday run we have changing and shower facilities at Hawker Leisure, and we then meet for a drink in the bar. At 9.30 our Club Captain Phil Davies gets up on a chair to yell "Your attention please for some brief announcements", the rest of us joining in to emphasise the word brief. You might not think that a series of administrative announcements could turn into a session of banter and heckling but it does.
Our long established beginners' group, Little Feet, meets every Monday at 7.30 at The Albion in Fairfield Road. Map. It is aimed at first time runners or those who feel unsure about running alone or in the dark, especially women. There are slow, short runs, from two miles including stops and some walking, up to about five miles. Experienced runners act as leaders and minders. Afterwards we meet up in the pub.
Visit the Little Feet website pages for more info
There is another Monday evening run of approx. 4 miles from Bushy Park Gate (Hampton Hill High Street, opposite United Reformed Church), for all abilities. The group can be found quenching their thirst in The Star post-run!
One group meets at 7.30 on Tuesdays on the corner of Ham Common, opposite The Hand and Flower. This is a more serious training session than our other meetings and may include interval work, hill sessions, and the like. As with all our meetings, we cater for a wide range of abilities.

Tuesdays - Thames Ditton group
Another Tuesday group meets at the Thames Ditton Cricket Club on Giggs Hill Green, starting at 7.30 p.m. Usually there are two groups, the faster group will run 6 to 7 miles at 8 min/mile pace, the other group slightly shorter and slower. There are changing facilities and showers at the Cricket Club and the first Tuesday of each month is followed by a social drink (and meal if you fancy) at The Angel pub. If you would like to know more about the Tuesday Thames Ditton group please contact Merran Sell.
This group is for runners training for longer distances. Mileage is usually between 10-15 miles at 8 minute mile pace, but distance may increase when building up for longer races. At these times the usual plan is to add in extensions of 2-5 miles after the main run. Meet at Richmond Park Kingston Gate Car Park at 8.30am. On occasion other locations may be suggested (such as Box Hill!), so please keep an eye on the latest schedule on this website. For more info, please speak to Phil Davies.
