Summary

Held on a bright but very chilly day, with hard frost on the course in shadows and only a bit of surface melting in the sun.  A good turnout from the ladies, who finished 12th team and enjoyed some ferocious racing (mainly between themselves).  The men’s team were depleted through injuries and illness, managing only two finishers.

Men’s race was dominated by Phil Wicks of Belgrave; as an indicator of conditions, the winning time was 2 minutes quicker than 2008 and the first 13 finishers beat last year’s 2nd place time.   There were similar improvements in the ladies’ race, won by Lily Partridge of Aldershot & Farnham.
