Surrey Road League
The Surrey Road League starts with the Sutton 10K on 4th May. See dates at the bottom of this page for the other races
23rd February - National Cross Country Championships-Alton Towers (by PG)
The race is a bit meaningless these days, but still worth a trip for some good training. The course was fairly short and the hill was no worse than other nationals i've done.
In short The ladies were spearheaded by Julia Pearce who recovered from last weeks cold to finish in 309th in 34.05. Jo, Chris and Liz were fairly close throughout with
Jo Kilkenny running her first cross country for the club to come 367th in 36.05, Chis Glew 374th in 36.14 and Liz Souness ran her fourth run this month to finish in 399 in 37.03, 495 finished.

9th February - Surrey League match 4, Richmond Park
10 ladies ran in the surprisingly hot weather led home by Clare Nicholson. Although we put in a good effort it seemed that some of the other teams had saved
their best effort for the last race, so we were beaten down into 7th place on the day and West 4 just managed to snatch 5th league position
from us. However the A team still came in overall 6th position out of 15 teams and the B team were 8th out of 12 B teams

26th January - Southern Cahmpionships,Parliament Hill
It was great to see such a large Straggler contingent at Parliament Hill and we were easily spotted with our Club flag flying.
This is a very tough and muddy 5 mile course (even longer for the men) and our ladies team came 36th out of 47. 6 ladies ran and Cecilia
was the first Straggler home.

There was a good turn out at Reigate Priory Park on a bright sunny afternoon. 12 Straggler ladies ran and the 'A' team of Louise Watson, Clare Nicholson, Dee Smale, Juliet Cleghorn and Julia Pearce
came in 4th place. This takes us up to 5th position in Division 1 with one match left
