There were 31 Stragglers (that we know of) running the streets of London yesterday, giving those who went up to support, a steady stream of yellow vests to cheer.

Leading the pack was Sarah Holt who set a new PB of 2:37:46, finished 12th among the women at the mass start and won her age group. Phoebe Law was our second fastest runner finishing in 2:51:35 while Scott Singleton was third in 2:53:06.

Four hours separated our first and last finisher. Some like Merilyn Davis (3:58:57) have done many marathons while others like Livia Munaretto (3:47:27) and Rachel O'Gara-Liu (6:01:00)were racing 26.2 miles for the first time. Conditions were tough in the sunshine and given the number of competitors, so the achievement of finishing is all the more impressive.

We will be celebrating our London heroes and everyone else who has run a marathon this year, at the annual Marathon Celebration on Thursday 7 May after the club 5k handicap. Everyone's welcome and those who have raced are encouraged to wear their marathon shirt and medal with pride.
