A small group of Middlesex-based Stragglers competed in the country's XC championships in Hillingdon, and produced some excellent performances. Nic Douglas won the women's race in 31:13 and Sophie Biggs was third in 31:46. Pete Gregorowski was our fastest man finishing 33rd in 46:16.

Julie Haworth finished 49th in the women's event (42:02) while Chrissie Glew was 68th (55:37), enabling the team to finish third in the event for teams who haven't made the podium in the past three years. In the men's race Ted Fraser was the second Straggler to finish in 56:58 which gave him 85th position. Simon Brazil was 92nd (59:40), Ed Randall 98th (1:01:32) and Andy Green 102nd (1:04:30).
