Summer Grand Prix

We are delighted to announce the 2026 Summer Grand Prix. The series has 14 events and kicks off with a Mob Match against Wimbledon Windmilers and Fulham on the 11 April at Morden parkrun and finishes off with the Memorial Relays on 13 August. Note you need to compete in 7 events to win an award.

Here is a summary of everything you need to know about the Summer Grand Prix 2026.  If you have any queries, contact Andy Howarth

Grand Prix Points

  • Separate Male and Female competitions

  • Every runner scores 10 points for each race they finish

    • Bonus of 25 points to 1 point for the first 25 Stragglers in each race

  • Max score for each race is 35

  • Your best 7 scores for each race are totalled – max possible score is 245

  • Where there is a tie after 7 races, the score in the 8th, and then 9th races are used to determine positions in the table.

  • Minimum 7 races to win an award

  • Runners must be representing Stragglers and not other claim Clubs and includes 2nd claim members

  • Grand Prix points on handicaps scored on actual run time

     

Grand Prix Awards

  • Male and female with the highest number of points

  • Male and female hero  - for running the most races (in the event of a tie the lowest score wins)

  • Gold, silver and bronze awards in each of the following age categories:

    • Senior Women, F35, F45, F55, F65, F75

    • Senior Open, O35, O45, O55, O65, O75

    • The categories are based on your age at the first event (11 April 2026)

  • Most improved male and female runners - at the discretion of the Team Managers
