River Relay shines on a sunny Sunday

The sun shone brightly on this weekend's River Relay despite gloomy forecasts predicted showers. Sixty-six teams completed this year's race which for the first time finished at Bushy Park Sports Club.

Ealing Eagles won the relay with their Golden Eagle team finishing in 2:39:50, having overtaken Trent Park's Team 1 which had led since the end of stage 2. The Stragglers women's team - Zander - were the fastest female team finishing sixth overall. The team of Sophie Biggs, Nic Douglas, Sarah Holt, Harri Daniel and Lisa Bailey finished in 2:51:07.

The second fastest Stragglers team was Dace which finished 10th. Oli Bowers brought the team home, with David Stevenson, Ian Hawkes, Josh Ingold and Tracey Lenthall having run the previous stages. The club fielded 13 teams all named after river fish, which finished 6th,10th, 13th, 17th, 31st, 32nd, 34th, 35th, 36th, 43rd, 47th, 55th and 63rd.
