Back to school, back to racing

As the kids returned to school after the long, hot summer, it was back to racing for a number of members this weekend.

Six Stragglers travelled to Newcastle for the Great North Run. Lex Prince was the first to finish in 97:57, followed by Steve Baller (1:48:53) and Scott Singleton (1:48:59).  Stuart Thompson (2:10:07), Leoni Thomas (2:10:35) and Paul Keeler (2:23:18) also completed the iconic race.

Closer to home six Stragglers went to Richmond to race the half and full marathon. Jo Taman was fastest over +13 miles finishing in 1:46:41 followed by Christine Nolan (1:54:34) and Merilyn Davis (2:05:27). Nick Kennedy (3:31:55) was fastest Straggler over the longer distance, followed by Simon Whitfield (3:41:05) and Daniel Angel (4:52:56).

Elsewhere Robert Hodge completed the Wilne 10k and Paul Boca ran RunThrough’s Wimbledon 10k. Claire Curtin was third fastest woman at the Burnham on Sea Hslf Claire Curtin (1:27:24). In Kew Philip Scard (43:45), Will Hill (57:45) and Richard Steeden (1:03:56) competed in the 10k.
