Heat no handicap for races Stragglers

Last Thursday’s Memorial relays was our final summer tourism event with over 100 runners participating despite the extraordinary heat.  Pete Gregorowski was the fastest runner on the night, finishing his leg in 06:24, while Sophie Biggs was fastest woman in 07:00.  Sophie’s team - her teammates being James Burree, Chris Bowers, Jemima Tio - was the fastest team according to the provisional results.  The event raised £529 for Pancreatic Cancer Action.

And the yellow vests of Stragglers were out in force at Battersea parkrun last Saturday as regulars of Duncan Gaskell’s training session visited the popular event.  Pavel was the fastest of the 15 who completed the 5k finishing 31st in a new parkrun PB of 17:06.  Claire Curtin was our fastest woman finishing 107th, also with a new park PB of 19:13.
