Morden sees another mighty mob

The Summer Grand Prix launched on Saturday with a mob match against the Wimbledon Windmilers at Morden parkrun. Proving how much we enjoy a mob, 69 Stragglers travelled to Morden park while the Windmilers fielded 44, giving the club a volume victory.

However, Stragglers also took the points win, finishing with 1,244 compared to 1,431, as well as coming out top if you calculate the points on age grading order (1,106 to 1,388).

Pavel Przepiorski was first finisher in a new parkrun PB of 18:11 while Becky Gravell was the first woman in 24th place and 21:31. Jim Lurkins finished third in 18:40 while Austin Molnar was fifth in 18:45. Ian Riley also made the top 10 finishing ninth in 19;20.

Libby Ferguson was our second fastest woman in 42nd place (22:37) while Rachel Simpson was third fastest in 53rd spot (23:14). Simon Webb and Jim Desmond did well on a bumpy and undulating course, finishing 46th and 47th in 22:54. The club claimed all but one of the top 10 age grading scores with Julie Haworth first with a grading of 86.54% and Malcolm Fletcher second with 81.61%
