Updated: 1 day ago

Club members were out in force this weekend, hitting the roads and trails in search of new PBs and podium finishes.

In Claygate, 57 Stragglers completed the Claygate Country 5-miler, with Pavel Przepiorski the first finisher for the club in 29:47 and fourth overall. Claire Curtin was our fastest woman in 33:54 and second female finisher, with Lex Prince third in 34:15. James Ruskin won VM40-49 in 29:57.

Tackling a somewhat further distance, Sophie Biggs won this weekend's Serpent Trail 75k race in the South Downs National Park.  Sophie was first finisher and first woman in six hours and 58 minutes. Her victory followed success in the Wimbledon Trail series in which Sophie finished second woman over the three-race series.

And finally, Nicky Hornzee and Sally Boulton were both racing as England Masters at the Great North 10k. Nicky set a new PB to finish 177th in 00:38:27 while Sally finished in 56:19.
