Stragglers shine on Marathon Sunday

The sun shone brightly on this weekend's marathon runners, a little too brightly with highs of 21 degrees in both London and Manchester. Twenty-two Stragglers completed the London course, with a further four members doing their 26.2 miles virtually.
Rhys Doherty was the first Stragglers to cross the line in the Mall in London in a time of 2:31:02 while Sarah Holt was the first female finisher for the club, with a time of 2:43:21.

Jacob Law Sales was our second fastest finisher in a time of 2:47:10, followed by Thomas Gwynn in 2:55:12. Donovan Duffy finished with a time just over 3 hours in 3:00:14. There were strong performances from Lisa Bailey who finished six minutes behind Sarah in 2:49:31 and Nicola Douglas who finished in 2:51:34.

Nicole Hamilton completed her second marathon in a week, having raced in Boston on Monday and finished in 3:25:25.

Other notable performances included Sonia Bandeira who finished in 3:17:07, Freddie Hawthorn (3:18:13), Ana Ramos Marugan (3:34:27), as well as Merilyn Davis (3:45:16), Kelly Page and Roy Kemp (3:59:33) all of whom came in under four hours.
Alma Dedic was our fastest virtual participant, completing her marathon in 4:05:35 followed by John Turner. Chantal Rochester and Orla who both completed their 26.2 miles in Bushy park in just over 6.5 hours.

In Manchester Malcolm Davies finished in 3:18:18 while Claire Cammack crossed the line in 4:56:43.
Other finishers in London were Douglas Anderson (5:08:24), Christene Nolan (4:13:11), Jason Nourse (4:26:07), Alison Parsons (5:36:06), Tina Sheppard (4:42:58), Mika Takami (7:23:07), Peter Wedderburn (5:16:51) and Liz Zass (6:16:32).
