What a weekend of racing

Where to start? Everyone seemed to be racing this weekend. The largest contingent of Stragglers were at West End in Esher, where 58 members completed the club XC championships, the first event in the Winter Grand Prix.

Pete Gregorowski was fastest man, finishing second after Flynn Orchard, in a time of 25:36. Lucy Chambers was fastest woman in 10th with a time of 28:51.
Meanwhile, thousands of runners were pounding the streets of Westminster in the Vitality 10k but Lisa Bailey was faster than most of them finishing as 7th woman in 34:40.
Also in Westminster but on Saturday, Pam Whitter ran the Westminster mile in 6:27, finishing second in her age group while Lynda Chase ran 8:32 and was third in her age group.

Sophie Biggs passed over the opportunties for a road race to tackle the Forest of Dean Autumn Trail Half where she finished second in her age group in a time of 1:31:08.
There were half marathons in Windsor, Barnes Green and Ealing, also this weekend. In Windsor Tony Finn was the first Straggler to finish (1:35:55), followed by Ian Robertson (1:38:44), Sean Renahan (1:49:250, Carmel Brady (1:53:26) and Dan Partridge (2:24:29).

At Barnes Green Jim Desmond finished in 1:30:19 and Simon Whitfield produced a time of 1:50:46. Duncan Scobie completed the Ealing Half in 1:55:13.
