Wokingham Half sees raft of PBs

There was a large club turnout at the Wokingham half marathon on Sunday with 17 Stragglers competing, nine of whom achieved a personal best. Rhys Doherty was the first to finish and ranked 16th overall. His time of 68:52 was just over a minute faster than his previous best.

Sarah Holt produced a massive PB to finish as third woman and first in her age group F40. Her time of 77:36 was more than two minutes faster than her PB for the distance. She also made the BBC news.

Lisa Bailey was second fastest Stragglers woman and also took a large slice of time off her previous best with a finish time of 77:48. She was placed 5th among the women. Jim Lurkins was the second Stragglers man to finish coming in at 85th in 75:22.

Other notable performances delivering large PBs included Josh Ingold (83:08), Nicole Hamilton (84:24), Chance Rowan (87:38), Ian Robertson (92:08), Phil Hammett (96:04) and Julia Snaith (1:40:09).
