XC die-hards take on SOT

The proximity of Christmas didn't defer a group of XC enthusiasts heading to Wimbledon at the weekend for the South of Thames 7.5 mile championship race.

Pavel Przepiorski was the club's fastest finisher, coming in 76th in a time of 49:02. James Bowell was second fastest man in 50:39.

In the women's event Sophie Biggs was our fastest finisher with a time of 52:08 and a position of 14th, followed by Tracey Lenthall in 36th, who finished in 59:30. Sophie and Pamela McHutchon both won their age groups W50 and W60.

Earlier in the weekend another group of diehard Stragglers turned up for an equally demanding endurance event, the festive pub crawl. The results for this event have yet to be published.
