HM season kicks off in Wokingham

This weekend saw the first big UK spring half marathon at Wokingham with 22 club members competing at the increasingly popular event.

Pete Gregorwoski was our first finisher with a time of 1:19:06, closely followed by Lisa Bailey who finished in 1:19:23. Lisa was the sixth woman to finish and won her category.

Chris Maud was the second Straggler man to finish in 1:19:59 and Nicole Hamilton was second woman in 1:28:13. Alistair Hall, Alex Willson and Tony Hall all notched up new PBs of 1:23:30, 1:23:49 and 1:33:01 respectively.

Alfie Rowan was racing his first half and finished in 1:49:54, as was Rachel O'gara-lu who finished in 2:31:17. Congratulations to everyone who raced.

While it was rather muddy at race HQ in Wokingham's Cantley Park, it was nothing compared to what Sophie Biggs had to contend with at the aptly-named BigMud 44k marathon. Sophie finished second overall and was first woman in 4:30.
