Earlier in the day, nearly 100 Stragglers ran in Bushy's parkrun and eight of them finished in the top 50. You could be forgiven for thinking it was a mob match but it wasn't. However, the group that trains with Kev Best, had to run the course three times as part of their training, the first at race pace. Lisa Bailey was the first to finish in 11th, followed by Scott Singleton, Sarah Holt and Jacob Law-Sales.

On Sunday it was time to complete the local half, the River Thames Half in Walton which both David Curtin and Des Hoar did, in 1:33;24 and 1:59:09 respectively. Tony Finn travelled to Valencia for his half, finishing in 1:36:24. Also travelling this weekend, Jim Desmond raced at the Dublin Marathon (3:38:10) while Andrew Dell'Anno completed the Venice Marathon in 3:49:18.
