Long summer nights mean more racing

Stragglers made the most of the long summer nights to do some racing during the week. Ian Riley, Ben Osborn and Mark Hacker all competed at the Reigate Priory AC Summer 10k, and finished as third-placed men's team.

On Friday a number of Stragglers sampled Ranleagh's new event, the 3k sunset sprints, while those looking for something more challenging headed for Epson for the famous Perch race. Angus Beaumont was our fastest man at the sprints with a time of 9:59 while Nicky Hornzee was fastest woman in 11:04.

At the Oddballs 2000 Perch Jim Lurkins was our fastest finisher, crossing the line in 40:54, followed by Bert Smith, while Phyllis Flynn was our fastest woman with a time of 51:17, followed by Carla Cotton.
