Keen Stragglers brave Artic cold

A keen bunch of Stragglers braved Artic conditions this weekend to compete in the Surrey XC Championships at Denbies and the Tadworth 10. Sarah Holt was the first Straggler woman to finish at Denbies crossing the line in 7th, while Donovan Duffy was the club's fastest man in 114th position.

Sarah won her age group by over two minutes, finishing in 33:42. Sarah Burdett was the second Straggler woman home in 38:55, while Rebecca Gravell was third in 40:18. Pamela McHutchon also won her age group.
In the men's race Donovan finished the men's race in 52:07 followed by James Bowell (52:15) and Aaron Israel (56:41). Marcus Solomon finished third in the U17 age group while John Taylor also finished third in his age group, M65.
Steve Clelland was the first Straggler to finish in Tadworth, crossing the line in 1:16:45, followed by Ian Hawkes and Trevor Ford. Patricia Ronksley was the fastest Straggler woman and finished third in her age category with a time of 1:26:37.
