Rain fails to deter 5k enthusiasts

Rain almost stopped play for Friday's 5k handicap, the third in the series and the final event in this summer's Grand Prix. The start was delayed to allow rain clouds to pass over Bushy and fortunately the forecast thunder storm passed us by.

Lisa Bailey was the fastest finisher once the race started with a time of 17:51 while Jim Lurkins was the fastest man in 18:32. Nicky Hornzee who was second fastest woman in 19:37, won the handicap, with Richard Patient finishing second and Ian Peggs third. Julie Haworth took the prize for finishing closest to her predicted time.
