Stragglers head to Wales

Stragglers headed to Wales this weekend for two days of high class competition, joining some of the leading running clubs in the UK to compete in the annual Welsh Castles relay.

Our 20-strong team finished in 46th place out of a field of 60. At the sharp end the top two clubs averaged under 5:30 minute mile pace across the whole course. Oli Bowers secured an excellent 12th place on his Saturday stage and was the highest placed Straggler across the weekend. Oli was back out again on Sunday as guide runner for team co-captain Simon Webb.

Chance Rowan joined the Drovers hall of fame. Our other mighty mountaineers were Richard Bowes, Kevin Price, Malcolm Davies, Richard Baggot and Martin Vivian. The team was completed by Julie Holmes, Danny Glebocki, Simon Brazil, Gareth Pritchard, Phil Davies, Robert Hodge, Austin Molnar, Tiago Ramos, Hilary Davies, Helen Davies, Tracey Lenthall and Simon Webb.
