Over 30 Stragglers ignored Sunday's persistent rain to line up for Kingston's breakfast run. Most were running the longest distance - 20 miles - but the club was well represented in the shorter 16 mile and 8 mile events.
According to initial results, Jim Lurkins was the first Straggler to finish the 20-miler when he crossed the line in 1:58:30 and eighth place. Sarah Holt won the women's event having finished in 2:03:30 closely followed by Lisa Bailey in 2:03:43, over 10 minutes ahead of the next female finisher and just seven and eight places behind Jim.
In much better weather, Aaron Israel completed the Rome marathon in 3:46:31 and managed to pose for a few pictures while he was there.
Back in the UK, Richard Bowes ran the Vale of York 10 miler in a time of 1:21:06 while Phil Hammett finished the Bath Half in 1:35:35.
