There was less drama on Day 2 of the Green Belt Relay but some tired legs. The sunny weather continued although there was a chill in the air when the Stage 12 runners started running at 8am. Duncan McConnell was our fastest runner, finishing in 1:13:04 and 13th place.

Crispin Allen produced another excellent performance to finish 5th on the next stage in a time of 40:05, while Austin Molnar was 8th in a time of 58:53 in Stage 14.

Stage 15, starting in Stone Lodge, saw Kevin Price taking Richard Bowes spot in the vets team. He finished 39th in 1:16:09 but Malcolm Calder was our fastest runner in 1:04:18.
Maddie Garner had another long stage at 16 after running 11.8 miles on Saturday. She finished as third woman again and 20th overall in 1:41:03.

Adam Davies was the first Straggler to finish on Stage 17, coming in 39th while Rob Chambers took that honour and 17th place on 18. Nicky Hornzee produced a superb performance to finish first of all the women on Stage 19 and 7th overall in 1:02:31.

On Stage 20 we had a father-daughter combination with Chance Rowan finishing 8th on 39:09 and Lucy Asby finishing 23rd in 45:36. Fraser Wigley came between them finishing 19th.

On the penultimate stage Freysen Maritz made the top 10 after finishing 13th in his stage yesterday, He finished 10th in 55:21. And Jim Desmond brought the club home on the glory stage 22, finishing in 55:09 and 16th. Andrew Simpson was right behind him in 17th (55:51) while Sonia Bandeira was 23rd in 58:59.

The women's team held onto their third spot (32nd overall) while the open men's team finished 11th and the vets team 27th. Congratulation to everyone who ran and thanks to all those who helped out as timekeepers, marshalls, drivers and supporters. Finally, a big thank you to Chance, Helen, Duncan and Fraser for managing the teams and all the logistics - as well as run. What stars!
