PBs a-plenty and a marathon win

It was another successful weekend for Stragglers as many took to the road for some autumn road racing. Oli Bowers led the way by winning the marathon at the Thames Meander Series with a time of 2:49:52. His winning margin was an impressive 23:07 - well done Oli!

Over the shorter distances there were solid performances from a number of Stragglers. Caitlin Lamb was the fastest finisher among those who completed the half marathon, with her time of 1:44:08. Denis Mustafa also finished under two hours in 1:54:44 while Sophie Elloy, Alex Mason and Wendy White all finished under 2:20 minutes. Orla White completed the 10k in 1:16:24.

At the Kingston Half marathon both Rob and Lucy chambers notched up PBs, and were the club's fastest man and woman with times of 1:26:45 and 1:28:07.

Alex McKenna who was second fastest with 1:27:47 also achieved a PB as did Marcus Lord (1:33:14) and Gabby Walters (2:15:23). Congratulations to each of them and the other nine Stragglers who completed the race. Also Simon Grennhill (46:49) and Chantal Rochester (1:04:55) were both finishers in the 10k.

Up in Chester both Jacob-Law Sales and Roy Kemp completed in the marathon, finishing in times of 2:45:25 and 3:40:27.
