Peter wins handicap series, again

Peter Wedderburn become the first Straggler to win the summer handicap series for a second time after a strong performance in the final event on Thursday. Peter finished second in a time of 27:52 behind Jacky Sinclair (29:50) who was first home. Sophie Elloy was third in 27:55.

Olly Bowers was the fastest runner on the night (17:28) while Zoe Birchenough was fastest woman with a time of 20:16. Duncan Scoble took the prize for being closest to his entry time.

Peter finished the series six points ahead of Andre Dell'Anno in second, who was 24 points ahead of Sophie who who finished third. The Hero Award goes to Philip White who completed all five events to finish seventh overall.

During the series a total of 189 different runners took part in at least one event and five took part in all five events. The series return next year with the first event scheduled for Thursday 6 May.
