A number of Stragglers headed East last week to compete in the Tokyo Marathon. Tom Gwynn was the fastest man among the visitors, finishing in 2:54:04, and Claire Curtin was the fastest woman with a time of 3:12:41.
Dean Morley and Kelly Page pictured below, finished in 3:35:21 and 3:45:22 respectively, while Denis Mustafa and Alexandra Mason clocked up times of 3:50:59 and 4:56:24
Tom, Claire, Dean and Kelly have completed all six marathon majors - London, Berlin, New York, Boston, Chicago and now Tokyo.
Elsewhere at the weekend, Chris Coates ran the Cambridge Half, finishing in a personal best of 1:19:29, while Phil Hammett clocked up another half in Chelmsford with a finish time of 1:33:46.
There were also some impressive 10k performances at the weekend. Rhys Doherty came 5th out 194 runners at the
Mad March 10k, part of the Sri Chinmoy series. Rhys finished in a time of 32:25, while Harry Tivnen finished 9th in a new PB of 33:07.
Finally, Merilyn Davis ran the Leicester 10k in 46:55 earning herself an England Masters qualification.
